Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.

I'm so happy that your father joined you and you are together tonight, with sad and happy memories. All my very best wishes to you all this Christmas.

My family, except for one daughter and partner, are gathering here for our feast, carolling around the piano and awaiting Santa's arrival, int he Nordic tradition. I feel blessed, though our thoughts do linger a bit with long departed parents and a recently departed friend.

Beth,
Have a wonderful Christmas and prosperous new year.

Thank you both so much!

Nous pensons à vous et nous avons hâte de vous voir!

Beth, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family as you forge a new bond together. How lovely that your Dad came up to be with you.

Martine, joyeux noel à vous aussi! Nous avons revenir á Montréal demain.

Loretta, thanks very much for your good wishes for our little family! The same goes out to you and yours.

Thanks for sharing what you're living. Your last three sentences are so beautiful.
