Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.

Lovely, Beth ... keep them coming.. one every day.

It would be pleasant to see one a day, but please do what you like! (Though fresh air is inflationery! For people if not for balloons...)

Real quality of watercolour! And a brave painting too - no niggling. Well done! Hope to see more.

Thanks, Uma, Marly. I had to work until late tonight and when I got home the light was gone, and tomorrow I've got choir, the day after will be away...so already my good intentions are shot! But we'll see what comes later on in the week.

Vivien, thank you! I'm sure you know well the agony and ecstasy of watercolor - that comment about "niggling" says a lot!

I like it

That is such a pretty watercolor. You are so versatile .

What a joy to learn that you, like my sentimental daughter, let party balloons float around the house till they deflate on their own!
