Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.

I love your poems, and love the theme of color. The muted colors of November do seem to make some bits of color stand out so much more. Congrats on making it halfway through the month! (Just catching up here now - hard enough to find time to post myself much less read others' posts with any attentiveness.)

Thanks, Leslee! And please don't apologize -- I'm way behind on blog reading this month too.
