Oooh ahhhh. Very swanky new digs! Very fast loading. Nice layout, too. Even your blogroll has chaged (just a little tiny bit) ;-)

Very fast, clean, bright and contemporary, and I really like the font!

A 'housewarming present' would be appropriate ... but since this is all virtual, how about a hearty welcome to your new digs, these pages that do load fast, indeed, and which look very nice -- and yet maintain the flavor of the cassandra pages we have come to know!

Bienvenidos a Typepad! I like the new design - much easier to read! Yet clearly still The Cassandra Pages. And the switch went so smoothly, at least from a reader's viewpoint. (I had such a hard time moving things from my old Radio blog that I ended up deleting most of the old posts I moved over, which remain on the old site.)

Ooh. This place is beautiful. I love how familiar it feels! But welcome yourself . . . like Maria, I wish I could hand over a nice housewarming gift (Apple Duff, maybe?), but a virtual present will have to suffice. Congratulations on your new space!

New page looks lovely, and loaded quick as a wink! :)

Oh, it's lovely. Still as visually satisfying - cool and warm at the same time - as before. Interesting how different it feels to read the text so much more spaced out - not better or worse, more or less inviting, just different. And great to have the index by category. I'm honoured to be on your new blogroll (but I've no 'and' in my name). I've promised myself I'll move on from blogspot if I make it to six months...

Oh wow! We're switching ourselves, soon, from MT to Text Pattern. It seems like a huge chore... This was apparently seamless (I was reading blogger and leaving a message and mid-sentence it switched over, like watching a wave come ashore and obliterate its predecessor...)

I reserve judgement.

Nah, I'm kidding. Your new place is swank. The little changes and tweaks, stray only a little from the previous design, but enough to make the viewer do a double-take: brighter green on the right, wider margins, faster movement.

May this place be as blessed (and blessing) as the old one.

LOVE it! This new font is much easier on my eyes. :)

Woo-hoo! I can comment again!

Wow, loads in a trice. If I ever run to visuals, I think I'll have to part brass rags with blogger too.

Congratulations on the most elegant transition in my blog experience!

For some reason my browser's hide-ad-banners-plugin thinks your title image is an ad. So I saw a big black space on the top.

I'm in the process of moving my weblog to a new server (my whole website actually) and I feel your pain.

New site seems to work fine for me. In answer to your query, I have been using Wordpress for a a few months now and I do like it a lot. See my blog here: . I found Wordpress a bit technical to set up and tweak, although PHP is a relatively easy programming language to understand. Otherwise, it has worked extremely well so far, and the range of things it can do is quite amazing. Best of luck!

Note -- I tried to include the reference to my blog as an HTML link is this post, but when I previewed it, Typepad had simply stripped out all of the code. I don't know Typepad, and so I do not know if that is standard or a feature that could be tweaked. =)

Your blog is always a joy for me.... it looks even better now, much easier to read, and is loading so much faster!

Well, let me be the 16th person to say how very nice this all looks. Much easier on the eyes - even the photos look fresher for some reason. Congratulations!

Beautiful new site!

Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.
