The Episcopalians seem to have done it again: a few minutes ago, they elected their first female Presiding Bishop - in an Anglican world where many countries don't allow women priests.
I've just returned this evening from Columbus, Ohio and the General Convention, which was a fascinating experience. I'll have considerably more to write about it later, when I've gotten a bit of sleep.

The idea that women are the spiritual inferiors of men - the premise behind denying them full religious authority - is so manifestly bigoted and ridiculous, it's hard to believe it exists.
