Good to be home, eh? Bonne nuit, Beth, looking forward to your travel sketches.

Welcome home, Beth! Can hardly wait to see the sketches.

I'm just back from a week of friends and family on Cape Cod. Good to do before the 4th of Julaborday weekend. I'll go again in the fall.
It was wonderful, I don't get home often enough.

Thanks Natalie, Kim. Sketches coming up soon!

Zuleme, I guess I didn't realize you're from the Cape. Hope you had the same weather we did.

My trip was emotional in a lot of ways and that always makes mixed feelings upon re-entry into my regular life, but this morning as I make the coffee and get ready for work in the studio, I'm glad to be here even as I process the events of the past few days.

Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.
