I read somewhere that as we age, our happiness is ever more related to our ability to enjoy the simplest things... and to do that, I must slow down. I also remember hopw my mohter used the expression "peace and quiet"; ""peace and hurry" just doesn't seem to work.

Beautiful. Happy 2014!

Those are truly beautiful pictures. It is so easy (and safe!) to miss that beauty when one is seated behind the steering wheel.

Gorgeous photos! Here in wet warm Seattle, I'm jealous of the snowy view.

Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.
