« My Father's War | Main | Rainy Montreal Morning »

June 09, 2014

We're desperate for some sun here in the north of England. We've had rain, rain, rain and the general atmosphere is damp and heavy with grey clouds. The ground is saturated. We've just put the central heating on. And to think that, in a fortnight, it'll be the longest day :-((

Happy to hear your garden fears were allayed!

Such lovely colors.

Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.
