Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.

Gorgeous photos, wonderful as always Transtromer, and I have to track down some of Bolano's poetry!

Great photos--especially the ones in the fog! Combining them with the poetry was a lovely bonus.Snow here. Nine degrees. But sun, thank God, sun.

and, and are you going to venture out again to show us the Afters ?

Wonderful shots.

These are superb pictures, eerie and lonely and the quotations you've chosen are apt. I remember my blog posts became very moody in winter and if I reread them I wonder what got into me because now a year later, my mind has blocked out all that. Your pictures make me revisit what it really was like.
