Sure looks like heaven there. I'm pretty good for hiking, too, at age 77, and it's one of my greatest pleasures.

Beth, beautiful words and images. I especially love the top photo - is that somebody sleeping under the green sheet? I see stipes underneath - J's pyjamas?

Damn! Another typo. Should be stripes. Wish there was a way to edit comments after they've been posted.

What a lovely peaceful visit with good friends. I felt like I was there with you and wish we could have been. Love reading your blog Beth - your writing is so descriptive, so nice to come along on your journeys.
Love you guys!!

Lovely little trip! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your upcoming PP hiatus...

Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.
