(O)

Beth, sweet story and thank you for writing about it. I am a dog person (life long) and now have my first kitten and a German shepherd. It is a total joy. They are great friends already. Having lost pets before, I feel for your friends' and your loss. RIP Mini.

So sad to lose a special animal, whether resident in one's home or elsewhere. My sympathy to you and your friends. I miss my visitor cat Pushkin very much, it's nearly a year since he was attacked by a dog and hasn;t been seen since. But I have no desire to get a cat or other pet animal of my own. Somehow the ownership doesn't appeal to me.

Who was Cassandra?

  • In the Iliad, she is described as the loveliest of the daughters of Priam (King of Troy), and gifted with prophecy. The god Apollo loved her, but she spurned him. As a punishment, he decreed that no one would ever believe her. So when she told her fellow Trojans that the Greeks were hiding inside the wooden horse...well, you know what happened.
